The Burman Room
Steps from the Card Room is the Burman Room. It is named for Ben Lucien Burman, newspaper journalist and war correspondent, and prolific writer of fiction, including a beloved series of books beginning in the 1950s about the animal denizens of Catfish Bend, Mississippi. This recently refurbished space houses a striking board table and chairs.
A secluded space for private meetings, intimate dinners, or quiet daytime work, it currently features a collection of historic views of New York City, with William Shakespeare gazing down at the head of the table.
